About Me

I have worked in the NHS since 2006 and completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southampton in 2010. I have extensive experience of working with emotional and physical health difficulties of varying complexity as well as developing and leading services within the NHS.  I believe a positive experience is key to any therapeutic interaction. Providing a warm and approachable atmosphere and a flexible way of working is my priority.

I can offer skills and experience with the following;

  • Emotional impact of long term health conditions

  • Medically unexplained symptoms

  • Depression

  • Anxiety; including phobias, health anxiety, social anxiety and agoraphobia

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Trauma, including symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

  • Bereavement

  • Relationship Difficulties

  • Low Self Esteem

My training and experience enables me to draw on a range of evidence based therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and mindfulness practice.

I enjoy working collaboratively with people to build a therapeutic relationship and tailor interventions to suit individual needs. I am able to offer both brief and longer term therapeutic interventions as well as consultation, supervision, reflective spaces, post incident support and teaching for a range of health care professionals.
